SPECIAL EVENTS

For memorable family entertainment, look no further than the Recreation Authority’s catalog of special events. Endorsed by parents and requested by children our events are exceptionally popular. Events sell out quickly and those who register early never miss out on the fun.

MOM/SON OUTING (fall)
Our Mom/Son outing, like our Daddy/Daughter Dance, is always a huge hit with our families in the community. Designed for boys, ages 3-14 years old, and their Mom/Aunt/Grandma/etc., our special outing provides a day full of entertainment and memories.

DADDY/DAUGHTER DANCE (winter)
Our annual Daddy/Daughter Dance will be held at The Recreation Center building. Ticket prices will include a buffet dinner, dancing, a group photo and a gift for each girl at the end of the evening. You must pre-register at the Recreation Center for this event, as there are only 180 tickets available.  Check back in August for more details.

HOLIDAY LIGHTS CONTEST (winter)
Think you have the best Holiday decorations in the area? Then nominate your house for the chance to win a prize and the prestigious title of “Best Decorated House in Roseville & Eastpointe.”  Nominated houses cannot win more than once in a 3 year time frame.  Deadline to nominate houses is Friday, December 13th.

HALLOWEEN LIGHTS CONTEST (fall)
Nominate your house or a home in your neighborhood that truly has the "Halloween" spirit!  Call our office at (586) 445-5480 to nominate a house.  Nominated houses cannot win more than once in a 3 year time frame.  Deadline to nominate houses is Friday, October 25th.

“SPOOKTACULAR” HALLOWEEN TRICK-OR-TREAT TRAIL (fall)
In celebration of Halloween, we will be hosting a Trick or Treat Trail at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Roseville for children ages 18 months – 12 years old. This event will feature music and many service clubs, businesses, city departments and individuals handing out candy in a safe and secure setting. Parents must purchase their child a wristband for entrance into the event. Wristbands must be purchased in advance at the Recreation Center and only 500 wristbands will be sold! “RUMBLIN’ TUMBLIN’” PUMPKIN ROLLDOWN (fall)
Our “RUMBLIN’ TUMBLIN’” PUMPKIN ROLLDOWN event offers children a fun and engaging way to dispose of their carved Halloween pumpkins! Held at Huron Park in Roseville, this event is FREE  for all to attend and provides a social, fun and entertaining experience every year! Visit the Special Events Listing for more details.

BIG BIRD RUN (fall)
Our Annual Big Bird Run, held on the 2nd Sunday of November, consists of a 10K Run, 4K Run, and 1 Mile Fun Run. This event brings as many as 700 runners from across Windsor and Michigan to compete each year. Sign the family up for some fitness fun! Each race recognizes winners in separate age division and dozens of raffle prizes are awarded every minute! Visit the Special Events Listing for more details.

WALK MICHIGAN (summer)
Held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m., Walk Michigan is a program designed to encourage physical fitness within the local community. Every time you participate in one of these scheduled walks, you will be entered into a prize draw!

BARGAIN HUNTERS PARADISE/GARAGE SALE (August)
If you love garage sales, tag sales, or flea markets, then you won’t want to miss this event. The parking lot of the Recreation Center will turn into a shopper’s paradise of bargains and sales. There will be a huge selection of household items, tools, sports equipment, toys, games, books, clothes and deals galore! The event will be held rain or shine. VENDOR SHOW / TASTEFEST (spring)
This event is designed for commmercial vendors to display their amazing products and for local restaurants to share their delicious fool items to sample.
