Swim Lessons

Youth Swim Lessons
The Recreation Authority of Roseville & Eastpointe is now offering Swim Lessons at Roseville High School. All lessons will be taught by trained American Red Cross Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors.
Parent/Tot - Ages 6 months - 3 years - Parents learn how to safely work with their child in the water, including how to hold and support their child and how to prepare and encourage their child to participate in aquatic activities. This course will also include safety topics and shall be conducted in the shallow water. This is a caregiver over 18 years old with the child in the water class. An American Red Cross Instructor will guide caregiver/parent with skills.
Preschool - Ages 4 -5 - This class will further develop basic aquatic skills that are taught by an instructor and build upon skills learned in the Parent and Child program. Students will perform skills with assistance and continue to become more self-sufficient in the water. This is an instructor-led class.
Level 1 - Ages 6 - 10 - Introduction to Water Skills: Students will learn how to feel comfortable in the water and safely enjoy it.
Level 2 - Ages 6 - 10 - Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills: Children will learn basic swimming skills. Students will begin skills for stroke development.
Level 3 - Ages 6 - 10 - Stroke Development: Additional guided practice will help students improve their skills. Stroke development will occur at this level.
Level 4 - Ages 8 - 13 - Pre-requisite: successfully completed ARC Level 3 course. Stroke improvement: Students will gain confidence during swim lessons, improve their stroke and acquire additional aquatic skills.
Young Teens - Students who are new to swim lessons and are beginner swimmers , will become more comfortable in the water. Needs of the students are evaluated and students are taught at the level that is appropriate for them.
Adult - Ages 15+ - This program is for those who want to improve their knowledge of and skills in the water. Needs of the student are evaluated and students are taught at the level that is appropriate for them.
